Job description: SummaryWorks directly with Sheriff’s Public Information Office within the Media/Community Outreach Team. This position works closely with various TCSO divisions, the community and other law enforcement agencies to develop, monitor and disseminate information across social media platforms and digital communications. This includes developing, uploading, editing, and monitoring web-based information and social media platforms. Develops and uploads content to internal Intranet for TCSO dissemination when related to law enforcement critical incidents and events. This position interacts with recruiters to assist in developing and sharing information to further outreach in hiring efforts.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops, monitors, and disseminates information across social media platforms and internal and external web-based platforms regarding TCSO law enforcement incidents across web-based, social media, and internal platforms.
- Develops and implements social media strategies to build stronger department and community relationships.
- Attends events and community outreach initiatives.
- Monitors online activity and responds to inquiries and information received through TCSO social media platforms.
- Captures photos and videos of events when requested.
- Identifies opportunities to influence positive community engagement through social media, community outreach programs, and assist recruiting campaigns.
- Generates and preserves digital files related to social media platforms.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum RequirementsAssociate Degree or equivalent. Two (2) years of related experience in Social Media content development, Web Design, Media Editing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field. Must possess a valid Texas driver license within thirty (30) days of hire. Must possess strong written and verbal communications skills. Must have a strong understanding of social media platforms including content and web-based development skills. Knowledge of law enforcement or experience preferred.If hired, must provide proof of educational attainment
at New Hire Processing or during the promotional process.
