Job description: About the Role: Are you a visionary PR pro who is a team player with a deep understanding of the business and technology media landscape? Do you have a proven track record in building and maintaining strong media relationships.As our Senior PR Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and communicating Cato’s story across earned and owned media. Reporting to our VP of Communications, you will lead the development and execution of PR strategies that advance Cato’s category leadership and reputation as the creator and leader of SASE.This is a remote role and can be located anywhere in the US.Responsibilities:
- Strengthen Cato’s reputation among our key stakeholders through our category creation, technical innovation, business model, executive leadership, and market opportunity.
- Together with our VP of Comms, evolve and execute Cato’s annual strategic public relations plan designed to inform and support the company’s corporate and market strategies.
- Craft and deliver company-level narratives and storylines to facilitate broader and deeper press understanding about Cato’s vision, strategy, value proposition and key differentiation.
- Cultivate relationships with North American-based journalists, editors, and influencers across business, technology, and channel media.
- Partner with Cato’s Director of Technology Evangelism to drive a global communications calendar of news and thought leadership that differentiates Cato and our SASE platform from legacy networking infrastructure and security appliance providers.
- Team with Cato’s Senior Director of Security Strategy to lead the communications and promotion of the company’s threat research.
- Partner with Cato’s Channel and Alliance leaders to build our reputation within the channel and alliance communities.
- Collaborate with our social media team to drive a creative and coordinated approach to Cato’s storytelling across earned, owned, and social media.
- Orchestrate Cato’s inclusion in major business, technology, channel and employer rankings and recognition.
- Monitor, track, and analyze earned and owned media, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement and creativity.
- Monitor news coverage and deliver reporter/editor sentiment, insights and opportunities on the market and competitors to key internal stakeholders and the senior leadership team.
- Manage the strategy, coordination, and preparation of presentations, briefing materials, and talking points needed for key spokespeople ahead of press engagements.
- Engage and educate Cato on the value of PR to business and have clear points of view on the program goals, milestones and support required from this critical audience.
Qualifications:
- 10 years in communications at an agency and/or public company with a track record of impact in B2B/SMB tech PR at strategic and operational levels.
- Strong media contacts and a proven ability to deliver top-tier media coverage
- Strong ability to collaborate with senior management, and internal and external partners across multiple teams and disciplines.
- Deep technology communications experience required; IT security experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to translate ideas into communications programs with sustainable activity and initiatives and make complex technology messages simple, memorable, and repeatable.
- A passion for writing and storytelling, supported by exceptional written and verbal communications skills with an outstanding ability to translate technology features into business outcomes.
- Superior project management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

- Global acumen and excels at working across borders, time zones, and cultures.
- Effective team player with the ability to drive initiatives independently.
