Job OverviewWe are currently looking for a Visual & UX Designer to join our team in Holland, MI.As a Visual & UX Designer, you will:Create look, layout, and features of the website and interactive marketing materials, graphic conceptualization, and design of solution to its completion. Formulates design concepts, UI elements, and layout design for web, electronic, and other media, requiring understanding of both graphic design and UX/UI principles. Assists with maintenance and additions to Haworth website. Works with development teams or managers for keeping site up-to-date and prioritizing needs.Some of the responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Serves as web designer to support Sales and Marketing initiatives to promote Haworth brand and meet business objectives.
  • Takes a hands-on approach to design by creating wireframes, prototypes, and design mockups that align with our brand identity and deliver intuitive user experiences.
  • Provides detailed documentation for designs such as style and size of type, photographs, graphics, animation, video, and sound, to assure appropriate brand identity.
  • Manages own projects, working within budget and scheduling requirements to meet business needs.
  • Presents final layouts to clients for approval to ensure objectives are met.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from product, marketing, creative, and media teams to define project goals, requirements, and scope, ensuring our platform meets customer needs and expectations.
  • Maintains site appearance by developing and enforcing content and display standards and editing submissions to maintain consistent adherence to Haworth brand standards and guidelines.
  • Develops site and marketing content and graphics by coordinating with copywriters and graphic artists; designs images, icons, banners, audio enhancements, video, and other details to keep consistent graphics in line with Haworth branding and graphic standards.
  • Upgrades site by updating content and graphics, monitoring performance and results, identifying and evaluating improvement options, introducing new technology, and maintaining links, ensuring relevant and updated forward-thinking, industry-leading web sites.
  • Ensures appropriate creative brief is developed and followed throughout creative process to assure quality and efficiency of design.

Do you have these required qualifications?

  • Bachelor’s degree of Fine Arts, Industrial Design, Marketing or Advertising with focus on Web Design, Graphic Design, Electronic Media or equivalent area of study.
  • Three years experience in graphic design, marketing, or advertising, including experience in cross functional roles.
  • One year corporate in-house design team or agency experience as Designer that includes all aspects of conceptual and production design.

Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:

  • Knowledge in wireframing and designing functional prototypes to create engaging and intuitive user experiences.
  • Ability to adapt and optimize content for various screen sizes & resolutions to ensure seamless user experience on a diverse range of devices.
  • Working knowledge of accessible design principles and end-to-end ADA compliance in web design.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of web, print photography, illustrations, campaigns, and communications.
  • Knowledge in Planning, Web User Interface Design, Multimedia Content Development, Understanding Browser Capabilities and UX.
  • Knowledge of PC and MAC operating systems, design software in both platforms, and other electronic equipment used in design and production of pieces (i.e., photography, video and lighting equipment).
  • Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods, including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media.
  • Knowledge of structure and content of English language, including meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services, including marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of MAC computers and Photoshop, XD, Figma, InDesign, and Illustrator. PC and keyboard/mouse skills.
  • May include creation and editing of video, motion graphics, and animations across social and digital platforms within proper specifications.
  • May include experience in photo/video shoot process and ability to provide on-brand art direction using story boards and mood boards that guide production team.
