  • You may be required to complete training and operate a four-wheel drive vehicle.
  • You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided.
  • You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work.
  • You will be required to complete a one-year trial period.
  • You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 2 nights per month. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.
  • You may be required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority.

In addition to meeting the basic requirements you must also possess experience and/or directly related education in the amounts listed below.EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: (1) Coordinate the implementation of scientifically credible ecological restoration projects; (2) Collection, maintain, summarize and report on natural resource data in order to ensure highly credible data acquisition and reporting; and (3) provides advice, assistance and training to field crews, students, student conservationist assistants and volunteers involved in resource management projects and field research.

EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least 2 years of graduate level education leading to a masters degree or a masters degree or masters degree equivalent in a related field as described above. You must include transcripts.

Positions filled in Yosemite will have multiple work schedules. Regular tour of duty is full time however for up to 3 pay periods between December and January tour of duty will be part time for less then 40 hours a week.A Recruitment Incentive May Be Authorized for a newly selected employee when appointed to a permanent, temporary, or term position. Assignments may be performed in potentially hazardous areas including steep rocky terrain, arctic environments, and forests.
