Job description:

  • Responsible for crafting copy that drives user engagement, increases conversions, and maximizes

performance across a variety of channels. Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Copywriter develops
meaningful narratives and compelling campaign communications that inform, engage, and inspire by
using data, visuals and words. As a member of the creative team, you will write, edit and develop the
voice for every signature campaign, while maintaining our brand. * Plan, research, develop and execute creative copy strategies that align with Dallas ISD’s brand voice and messaging guidelines.

  • Write persuasive and engaging copy for digital platforms, including websites, landing pages, email campaigns, social media, and advertising campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing, Communications, and Data Analytics teams to develop content that meets campaign objectives and performance goals.
  • Lead the department in staying up to date with industry trends, digital marketing best practices, user feedback, and evolving strategies within the sector to keep innovation at the forefront for the team.
  • Optimize copy based on performance data, A/B testing results, and user data to continuously improve student recruitment and retention rates, user engagement, and customer experience.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy in all written content, including proofreading and editing for grammar, spelling, district style, and clarity.
  • Maintain an understanding of all audiences, products, services offered and by the district.
  • Direct and maintain the correct brand voice for each campaign, multiple audiences, and channels. Actively flex as appropriate to the assignment, pivoting between long-form, informative copy and shorter marketing copy, serious to light, digital to print, etc.
  • Develop and direct market research to analyze data to retool and refine messaging.
  • Train and support team members on marketing copywriting best practices and tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university required, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related discipline.
  • 5+ direct years of experience in as a copywriter, content writer, or similar role in a digital marketing or advertising agency,
  • Diverse portfolio of copy examples including web, print, advertising, email and social,
  • Demonstrated understanding of marketing principles,
  • Graphic design experience a plus,
  • Must be a self-starter and experience data driven storyteller,
  • Ability to write sharp, concise copy that can adapt to a variety of audiences and capture attention,
  • Extensive knowledge of AP Style and strong attention to detail,
  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices and implementation practices,
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, performance-oriented environment,
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
