Growing together.This position is part of a four person team consisting of a business analyst, DBA and web developer. This position will be responsible for maintaining and developing ETL and will be the main customer interface, developing extracts and complex queries for their requests.You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience working as a Data Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Systems Analyst or Business Analyst experience in a Data Warehouse project environment
- 5+ years of experience ETL development
- 5+ years of experience working with end users/customers to understand system and business issues and perform technical analysis to understand and develop requirements and solutions
- 5+ years of experience with SQL; Teradata Utilities and Teradata SQL Assistant, including:
- Understanding of data warehousing definition concepts like
- Tables, Views
- Stored procedures and macros
- Experience using Teradata Utilities such as
- MLOAD
- BTQ
- SQLA
- Experience where there is involvement in working with any database related languages like SQL and their equivalent concepts like
- Indexing
- Joins
- Sub queries
- Volatile/temp tables
- Experience in maneuvering existing lines of complex SQL code in identifying an issue reported by non-technical/technical users
- Understanding of data in the terms of space and size and usage of the tables
- Understanding of Datatypes related to the tables like Char, timestamps, etc.
- Ability to understand and modify existing Views and their definitions to align and satisfy business requirements
- Involvement in processes that involve batch jobs
- 3+ years of experience developing test data and test scenarios
- 3+ years of facilitating customer requirements gathering meetings/sessions
- 2+ years of experience in teams that support applications that have their source as a Data warehouse
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Data Modeling/Database Design
- Proven ability to work independently and not rely on State or other team members
- Proven ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with programmers, analysts, immediate supervisor, management, system users, operations, other State agencies and the private sector
- Experience with BI Query
- Experience with Data Cleansing
- Experience with Data Governance
- Experience with Court applications or relevant court experience
- Experience with JAD and Agile IT Development methodologies
- Understanding of data visualization-reporting tools
- Proven ability to clearly communicate with users for clarification and elaboration as may be necessary to clearly define a problem and conceptualize a development plan
- Proven ability to recognize, gather, correlate, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems, and devise solutions and alternatives and make appropriate recommendations
- Proven ability to work with developers, facilitate modification of the logical design to create a physical design most suited to the reporting needs of the customer
- Proven ability to design applications taking into consideration data reconciliation, (to the source system) query/reporting performance, and analytical business value

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
