Job description: About the jobThe BHT will serve as a Life Success Specialist and will be assigned cases and will work one on one with youth/caregiver to enhance youth independent living skills while promoting economic and social self-sufficiency. The Life Success Specialist will also work 1:1 with parents and/or caregiver, partnering with Department of Child Safety during the process of reunification. Workers utilize the Ansell Casey Life Skills Assessment Instruments to establish an individual baseline for the life skills needs of each youth. Individualized transition plans, goals and time lines are developed to include youth, caregiver, and caseworker involvement. Direct Support training can consist of group and/or individual instructions, and may include hands-on training. Direct Support work is community based and includes working directly with the youth and/or caregiver. Works with youth ages 5-17. Must be able to work with males and females.Responsibilities and DutiesShift: Monday -Saturday — hours vary to meet needs and availability of youth and families. Must be available to work summer program and/or school break programs as needed. Only 25 Billable Hours.Mileage Reimbursement.Physical Requirements include working indoor/outdoor conditions with frequent activity. Must be able to climb stairs, including frequent standing and moving throughout facility, must be able to perform these physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations. Frequent physical effort (lift/carry up to 50 lbs).Must be able to demonstrate ability to develop and maintain organized files, organized activities for youth (individual and/or group), strong skills in navigating through the community, and teaching youth/adolescents how to learn and implement skills to be successful.Provide individual life skills assistance/training to youth assigned to caseload.Must meet encounter goal each week and meet with assigned clients weekly.Creates individualized treatment plans with youth and caregiver, updates annually at minimum.Monitor the progress and success of the specific interventions that are part of the Treatment Plan.Report successes and failures of the interventions to treatment team, in addition to changes in the client to supervisor and provider agency for coordination of care purposes.Provide options or plan for a therapeutic activity, recreational outing and/or social skills learning program for each group.Participate in regular clinical supervision sessions with supervisor (individual and/or group).Completes progress notes and submits all necessary paperwork on a weekly basis to supervisor.Attend provider and special parent meetings as required.Maintains confidential information on children, and maintains appropriate contact with parents to ensure a positive approach.Creates and maintains a learning environment appropriate for the age of the children enrolled, providing choice and a variety of approaches specific to each client.Supervises and teaches daily living skills, and recreational skills in the areas of games, sports, arts and crafts, and hobbies.Must demonstrate understanding of clinical knowledge and will participate in additional trainings to increase learning when needed.Perform additional duties as assigned, which are consistent with the general responsibilities of the position.Qualifications and Skills-Must be 21 years of age– Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health or related field from accredited university preferred as well as BHT status.– Minimum 1-year experience working in behavioral health field working with youth and families.– Position is community-based, qualified applicants must be able to meet with clients during the afternoons, evenings, and weekends.– Transportation of youth in the community is required which includes utilizing your own vehicle, must maintain car insurance coverage of 100K/300K as required by DBHS. Must have first aid kit in vehicle at all times.– Travel to our office/location for team meetings will be required several times per month.– Possess a valid Arizona driver’s license and be insurable under the agency’s automobile policy.– Must be computer literate with knowledge of Outlook and Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel)Pay Rate: Pay per Service Pay Structure; During the 60 day probationary period initial salaries are $36,000-$42,000. After you will receive a base salary plus the pay per unit listed in the chart below. A unit is a measure of time spent either with the client or doing care coordination. 100 units is 25 hour per week face to face with clients. However you are able to obtain units through other means. 0-50 units Base Pay Only
51-100 units Base Pay plus $7.50 per unit
101-125 units Base Pay plus $7.75 per unit
126-150 units Base Pay plus $8.00 per unit
