Working with stakeholders, often on tight deadlines, the Graphic Designer develops layout and production design to meet specific corporate or promotional needs for materials such as branch merchandising and signage, printed collateral, web pages, print and digital advertising, social media, email marketing and internal communications. The Graphic Designer I utilizes a creative flair and a strong sense of superior design while upholding the bank’s brand and graphic standards and collaborating widely with Marketing, Product Management and other internal partners in support of business objectives.POSITION SUMMARY – Graphic Designer IIThe Graphic Designer II creates a wide variety of marketing, advertising and other materials, primarily using computer software tools, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform or captivate the bank’s customers, markets and employees. Working with internal partners, often with minimal direction and on tight deadlines, the Graphic Designer II develops layout and production designs that meet strategic, highly visible corporate or promotional needs for materials such as branch merchandising and signage, printed collateral, web pages, print and digital advertising, social media, email marketing and internal communications. The Graphic Designer II exhibits a strong sense of corporate design while upholding the bank’s brand and graphic standards, and collaborates with Marketing, Product Management and other internal partners in support of business objectives.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Graphic Designer I

  • Creates engaging graphics, including illustrations, logos, layouts and photography, using an expert knowledge of typography, color theory and graphic design.
  • Develops print, digital, video, web pages and other materials, as assigned.
  • Collaborates actively with internal colleagues, vendor partners and freelance creative resources in order to gather requirements and complete projects on time, on brand and on strategy. Produces drafts for stakeholder review and amends or revises materials based upon feedback. Advises stakeholders on best practices, practical considerations, brand standards and other considerations.
  • Carefully reviews final production artwork for errors while ensuring they meet requirements and standards.
  • Uses a variety of artistic effects while upholding the bank’s brand and graphic standards.
  • Keeps current with the latest design trends and software tools in order to remain on the cutting edge of design.
  • Balances multiple projects and priorities.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES – Graphic Designer II

  • All major responsibilities of a Graphic Designer I.
  • Mentors’ other members of the graphic design team to help further enhance their design skills and uphold the bank’s brand and graphic standards.
  • Proactively identifies potential changes to the bank’s brand or graphic standards; advises management; and implements approved changes to standards.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES Graphic Designer I & II

  • Ensures all activities are compliant with banking rules and regulations related to advertising, including Unfair Deceptive or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP), Regulation B, Regulation Z and Regulation DD.
  • Maintains a current understanding of Bank policies and procedures in compliance with all federal and state laws, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (SARs, CIP, OFAC), Information Security (GLBA), Identity Theft Red Flags, Financial Elder Abuse Reporting, and any other applicable regulations that may be specific to your job duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED Graphic Designer I

  • 3 or more years of professional graphic design experience in a corporate or agency environment, including experience designing production-ready files for traditional print and digital; experience in a banking or other financial services firm helpful.
  • A strong portfolio of previous graphic design work in a variety of formats
  • Associate Degree in graphic arts, design or related fields; Bachelor’s Degree helpful.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated experience in web design with an understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to meet objectives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED Graphic Designer II

  • Seven or more years of professional graphic design experience in a corporate or agency environment, including experience designing production-ready files for traditional print and digital.
  • Experience in a banking or other financial services firm strongly preferred.
  • An outstanding portfolio of previous graphic design work in a variety of formats.
  • Associate Degree in graphic arts, design or related fields; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated experience in web design with an understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to meet objectives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
