Job description: Apply now to join FAU on its race to excellence.For more information on everything FAU has to offer, please visit .Note: Current FAU employees must apply as an internal applicant by logging into their existing Workday employee account.Position Summary:Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Health Promotion Coordinator – Boca Raton, FLSummary of Responsibilities:Oversee efforts associated with educational components in the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act.Assist with compiling information for Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act Biennial Review.Under the direction and supervision of the Assistant Director of Owls Care Health Promotion, this position works to plan, implement, and evaluate campus-wide health promotion practices in order to create an environment that promotes student success and personal development.Responsible for minimally one health promotion content area.Plan, implement, and evaluate theory-based and evidence-informed health promotion strategies, policies, programs, and services on the Boca Raton campus in the area of substance safety.Develop plans, goals, and measurable objectives for health promotion programs and services.Incorporate multicultural diversity and social justice concepts and principles into health promotion services.Conduct ongoing needs assessment in the areas of substance safety, and general health and well-being.Assist in training student workers including peer education student staff in the delivery of health and wellness workshops, office operations and educational outcomes for office programs.Serve on the Healthy Campus 2030 committee and support the overall initiative.Collaborate with key stakeholders on and off campus to develop a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach to health for students on all FAU campuses, including residential students, student athletes, and fraternity/sorority members.Advise the Collegiate Recovery Community.Coordinate OCHP’s involvement in tailgating events and promote social norming and harm reduction strategies.Level of involvement expected with regard to policy making and/or interpretation:Assist with the creation, implementation, revision, and interpretation of health/wellness educational policies and those in relation to the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act.Involvement in the development of new and existing programs within the university:Responsible for the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of programming for the department.Perform other job-related duties as assigned.FAU Benefits and PerksIf Benefits & Perks are important to you, then FAU is the place to be! View it here:Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience. Some work at other FAU locations is required.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Health Promotion, Public Health, Health Education, Social Science or another related field.
