Job description: OverviewWorld Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world’s leading conservation organizations, seeks a Media & External Affairs Intern, Hispanic Outreach.Major FunctionThe Media & External Affairs Hispanic outreach intern is responsible for conducting research and analysis, supporting media outreach plans, organizing information and materials, producing, writing, and editing communications tools to engage targeted Hispanic or Latino audiences. The intern also assists in communications tasks as needed, including drafting materials for traditional, digital, and social communications channels.Responsibilities

  • Analyzes trends within Hispanic digital and social media platforms (such as X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube) and highlights opportunities for engagement.
  • Researches new Hispanic media outlets, updates or creates new media lists by geographic regions and topics, maintains database of media contacts, and creates media reports.
  • Researches and identifies stories, reports, and other creative communications products published by WWF-US and WWF Latin America and the Caribbean’s external communications channels, to adapt for Hispanic audiences.
  • Helps to develop communications materials, including photo and written stories for the web and media, and social media posts that will resonate with key target Hispanic audiences.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Current undergraduate student or a bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations or marketing required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to develop and apply best communications practices to evolving situations and assignments.
  • Highly organized, creative, and able to prioritize and coordinate several projects at one time with high level of accuracy under tight deadlines. Working on multimedia projects is a plus.
  • Ability to work full time or no less than 4 days per week for the duration of the internship.
  • Spanish language proficiency is required.
