  • In a 24×7 construct, oversees and coordinates Tier 1 /Tier 2 systems testing, troubleshooting, and support required to ensure the security and continuous real-time availability and accessibility of the DoDIN and Enterprise services.
  • Monitors execution of changes to the physical configuration of network hardware and software as necessary to meet new or changed data transmission and connectivity requirements.
  • Provides initial diagnoses of complex IT network and routing issues such as network traffic congestion, packet loss, and encryption/decryption of information as it moves securely throughout the DoDIN.
  • Provides Situational Awareness to Battle Captains and fellow Watch Officers at both DISA Global Operations Centers to maintain a Common Operational Picture of the DoDIN.

  • Shift Work Schedule: Scott AFB Shift Hours- Days: 0600-1430; Swings: 1400-2230; Mids: 2200-0630; Hill AFB Shift Hours- Days: 0500-1330; Swings: 1300-2130; Mids: 2100-0530

Attention to Detail- experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been asked by others to review their work or data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards
Customer Service – experience maintaining relationships with customers, assessing current information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products and services that are tailored to meet customer needs
Oral Communication -briefing mid-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of technical information to a non-technical audience
Problem Solving – identifying alternatives to address complex information technology-related issues by gathering and applying information from a variety of sources that provide a number of potential solutionsQualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-12, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in a network operations center environment which includes experience in customer service/customer support related to information technology, network operations, cybersecurity incident management and problem resolution.Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume.   • This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system.
  • If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment.
  • This appointment does not confer eligibility to be non-competitively converted to an appointment in the competitive service.

  • This position is covered under DoD Manual 8140 which will be subject to future Cyber Workforce requirements as defined by the Manual.
  • This position has been designated as “Mission Essential.” Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency.
  • Shift work required. Employee is subject to recall or call back during off-shift hours, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, if required by upper management.
  • Work may require travel away from the normal duty station.
