Visit for more information.What part would you play in this role?As a Medical QA Specialist, you will work closely with medical providers and the Veterans Administration to ensure the documentation process is complete and accurate. In this role, you will review documentation sent over from medical providers and ensure the report is clear, consistent, concise and correct, and the veteran has received consultation for all of the medical issues listed.In this rewarding role, you will:

  • Review exam reports sent over from medical providers
  • Ensure all tests have been ordered and completed
  • Coordinate with medical providers as needed for clarification of reports
  • Work with our in house appointment schedules to request additional appointments for the veteran as necessary

You must have:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; advanced medical training preferred.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology
  • Ability to read medical reports
  • Understanding of the disease process with the ability to apply clinical reasoning

It would be great if you had:

  • Experience within medical coding and documentation
  • Knowledge of military medical examinations
  • Vocational training in the medical field, i.e. LVN, CNA, Military Corpsman/Medic, EMT, MA, etc.

Typical Day:

  • Training is in office Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm CST (Position will be remote after training is completed)
  • Schedule after training is Wednesday – Saturday: 8:00 am – 6:30 pm CST (10 hour shift with a shift differential)

Starting pay: $ 19.95 per hour with an increase after training (approximately 4 to 6 months)**Probationary period: Employment as a Medical QA Specialist will include successful completion of 120-day probationary period during which you will be given objectives to achieve. This timeframe lets you assess your readiness for the position as well as allows Leidos QTC Health Services to determine your ability to successfully perform the job. You will be provided objectives, documentation, training and performance feedback during the 120-day probationary period as part of your assimilation to the role. After successfully completing the120-day probationary period, you will be considered a permanent employee.The Leidos QTC Health Services’ pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Experience Required

  • Less than 1 year(s): Healthcare, medical, or insurance related industry experience

Preferred

  • Experience with case management software, electronic medical records and medical databases
  • Direct healthcare experience in medical case management or quality assurance to include the review of complex multi-focal medical reports for quality, clarity, thoroughness and insightful medical explanation
