Job description: Job Posting InformationThis is an On-call Position working as needed depending upon workload. Hours to be scheduled between Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Hours vary. On-call positions are not eligible for benefits. The individual hired will work in the office as this is not a remote position.An On-call Motor Vehicle Clerk is responsible for assisting the public in the registration of motor vehicle. Duties include working with the public while handling cash, checks, and credit card transactions. Position may also sort, inventory, label, and shelve boxes of license plates, in addition to helping direct the public at the front door.Nature of Work/Examples of Work PerformedWorks directly with the public in explaining and assisting in the process of motor vehicle renewal and managing the queing system at the front door.Performs data entry of motor vehicle registration renewal information.Collects registration fees and identifies, obtains, and issues appropriate license plates and/or stickers.Maintains assigned cash drawer, prints, cash drawer reports, and completes daily balance sheet.Desirable Knowledge, Abilities & Skills/Desirable Training & ExperienceDesired: Knowledge of motor vehicle registrations, customer service experience, bilingual skills, data entry experience, inventory experience and experience handling monetary transactions.Must be able to lift 50 pounds repetitively at shoulder level or below; and able to operate mechanical or electrical equipment.Minimum Qualifications/Necessary Special RequirementsQualifications: High school graduate or equivalent with 6 months of experience performing clerical work involving considerable public contact; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.We value each Lancaster County employee and one way we demonstrate this is by providing an attractive and competitive total compensation package that adds value to our employees’ professional and personal lives. Expected salary: $17.88 per hour
