Types of duties include but are not limited to the following: Sets up recreation areas for scheduled activities; records attendance; takes reservations and payments for trips and tours; notifies participants of schedule changes; arranges for equipment or tools, charging them out to participants, and checking them for condition on their return; decorates community or neighborhood centers or recreation centers for special events, activities, or parties; checks the established activities and answers inquiries about item, place, transportation, or other matters related to activity schedules; takes inventory of authorized recreation supplies and equipment; and helps with group activities which require more than one staff member, performing specifically assigning tasks. Performs checkout and receiving of recreational items to include lawn and garden equipment, fishing and boating, skiing, household items/tools, sporting goods, and miscellaneous equipment. Collects, safeguards and deposits fees collected from customers. Ensures that all funds/charges are accounted for at end of shift. Responsible for the set-up and rotation of displays and maintaining all customer/storage areas in a clean, organized, presentable manner. Assists customers as needed for selecrion of equipment. Registers patrons and receives payments for the Recreational Vehicle Storage Lot, Vehicle Resale Lot, recommendations for improved customer service. Provides patrons with information as requested on boating, fishing areas, camping facilities, sightseeing, biking/hiking, etc. Performs other related duties as assigned.If interested in applying for this position you may preview the online application:RequirementsConditions of Employment

Practical knowledge of recreational activities, rules, and procedures. Ability to safeguard and handle cash and skill in the use of maintenance of various recreational equipment and facilities are desirable. Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Prior cashier/funds handling experience desirable. Successful completion of a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) is required.You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:EducationSome federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements.
