Do you have solid working knowledge of the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program? Are you tech-savvy with the ability to quickly troubleshoot technical difficulties within clinical information systems? Do you want to play a key role in the quality of service that is provided through the WIC program by assisting local clinic staff? The Office of Maternal and Child Health is looking for an experienced candidate to fill their role of WIC Operations Specialist.PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING:

  • This position is currently a hybrid of both in-office and remote work days. Please note, a position’s eligibility for remote work is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion at any time and for any reason.
  • This position is currently scheduled 4 days a week, with each shift being 10 hours. The schedule is typically Tuesday – Friday from 7:00AM to 5:30PM, but some flexibility may be required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Become an expert in the WIC information system, VISION, to provide help desk support for local clinic staff
  • Provide customer service to program applicants, participants and internal customers
  • Research and respond to incoming questions or complaints and provide information, explain policies and procedures, and facilitate resolutions
  • Provide trainings and presentations on the clinical information systems that WIC uses, and any updates that may be associated with them
  • Assist with contract monitoring
  • Assist with social media creation, approval, and posting
  • Gather and evaluate data for audits, evaluations, and investigations

Ideal Candidate:

  • 2 years of experience working with the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program
  • 2 years experience using the VISION or Mountain Plains States Consortium systems
  • Understanding and knowledge of WIC policies and procedures.
  • Ability to learn and understand Information Technology (IT) issues and computer hardware issues
  • Ability to effectively present information to large and small groups.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Good reading, writing, and verbal communication skills in English. Bilingual preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and telephone skills.
  • Experience using basic business computer software including Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
